With a score of 91 points for Sonsierra Tempranillo Blanco 2018, Sonsierra Crianza 2016, Sonsierra Reserva 2014 and Pagos de la Sonsierra 2014, plus a score of 92 points for Sonsierra Gran Reserva 2013, the highly respected American wine critic James Suckling has given his stamp of approval to Sonsierra’s wines and placed them among the highest-ranked wines from La Rioja.
Sonsierra wines beat their own record and got 9 medals for their wines in a single competition: the AWC Vienna International Wine Challenge 2018. Its 15 years of history and some overwhelming figures - 12,402 participating winesfrom 39 countries - has made it one of the most outstanding wine contests on the international scene.
The North American critic and ex- Wine Spectator magazine wine taster, James Suckling is one of the key critics in the American market and he has awarded Sonsierra wines high scores in his report on Spain, published on 1 August on his website: https://www.jamessuckling.com.
The uniqueness and personality of Pagos de la Sonsierra has once again seduced the 800 wine-tasters at the Challenge International du Vin, where, following a rigorous blind tasting, the gold medal was awarded to the 2013 vintage of Pagos de la Sonsierra. This vintage is following in the footsteps of its counterpart from 2012, which won the gold medal at last year’s edition of the Challenge International.
