Sonsierra wines beat their own record and got 9 medals for their wines in a single competition: the AWC Vienna International Wine Challenge 2018. Its 15 years of history and some overwhelming figures - 12,402 participating winesfrom 39 countries - has made it one of the most outstanding wine contests on the international scene.
The North American critic and ex- Wine Spectator magazine wine taster, James Suckling is one of the key critics in the American market and he has awarded Sonsierra wines high scores in his report on Spain, published on 1 August on his website: https://www.jamessuckling.com.
The uniqueness and personality of Pagos de la Sonsierra has once again seduced the 800 wine-tasters at the Challenge International du Vin, where, following a rigorous blind tasting, the gold medal was awarded to the 2013 vintage of Pagos de la Sonsierra. This vintage is following in the footsteps of its counterpart from 2012, which won the gold medal at last year’s edition of the Challenge International.
Luis Gutiérrez, Spanish wine taster of the famous and influential website Robert Parker Wine Advocate, revalidates the scores of our wines highlighting the new vintages of Perfume de Sonsierra 2014 and Sonsierra Gran Reserva 2012 among the best according to this publication, with 91 y 90 points respectively. Vintages that are not yet available but will go on the market throughout 2018
We recently found out the new scores for Rioja wines awarded by Luis Gutiérrez, who is the taster of Spanish wines for Wine Advocate, the famous publication founded by Robert Parker. We add now 7 new medals obtained by our wines at the prestigious AWC Vienna International Wine Challenge.
The Concours Mondial du Bruxelles international wine competition has awarded its top prize to Sonsierra Vendimia Seleccionada 2011. The wine was chosen from amongst nearly 9,000 entries from the 52 different wine-producing countries that took part in the competition, which was held in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv from 29 April to 1 May.
The best wines were selected on the basis of a rigorous blind tasting by the panel, which comprised 320 tasters of 54 different nationalities and included international wine-buyers, sommeliers, importers, journalists and writers from the world of wine.
