WINE AND CULTURE
In Sonsierra the area’s natural bounty has been shaped and adapted by the people living there, through the cultural inheritance of our winemaking traditions and techniques, with traditional rustic constructions such as shelters or guardaviñas that survive the passage of time dotting the roads and vineyards.
FESTIVALS AND CELEBRATIONS
Similarly, other towns across Sonsierra are home to a multitude of popular celebrations that have maintained their ancient roots: the festival of San Martín in Ribas de Tereso, the festival of Santa Bárbara in Peciña, the festival of San Vicente Mártir in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, and many others. However, the most widely celebrated festival is undoubtedly that of San Isidro, the patron saint of farmers, when it is customary to carry a statue of the saint out into the fields and ask for a blessing upon the land.
