One new gold medal and two silvers have been added to the enormous haul of honours for Sonsierra’s finest wines from 2014, which continue to receive acclaim at competitions and in guides around the world.
Pagos de la Sonsierra 2014 was awarded the gold medal at the 27th editionof the renowned Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, which took place in the city of Brno in the Czech Republic. Additionally, two silver medals were awarded to Sonsierra Vendimia Seleccionada and Perfume de Sonsierra, also from the 2014vintage.
These new medals make a total of 17 prizes for the 2014 vintages of these three wines: two golds and one silver for Pagos de la Sonsierra, three golds and three silvers for Perfume de Sonsierra, and four golds, three silvers and one bronze for Sonsierra Vendimia Seleccionada.
The panel of judges for this rigorous competition comprised industry experts (including journalists, oenologists, international buyers, and members of professional bodies) from more than 51 different countries. In addition to the tasting and scoring process, this year’s Concours also introduced a system to monitor the quality of the prize-winning wines after the competition has ended, in order to check continuity of quality between the wines submitted for tasting and the ones available on the market. This innovative new development is designed to ensure the legitimacy of the competition results.
