¿WHAT COLOUR ARE VINES IN AUTUMN?

We at Bodegas Sonsierra wanted to tell you a little-known fact about the colour of vines in autumn. Not all the vines turn red or yellow; depending on the grape variety, the vines take on different colours. White tempranillo and viura (and most white grape varieties) take on ochre and yellow hues as the autumn advances. In contrast, red varieties such as Tempranillo (red) turn spectacular shades of red. There’s just one exception and that’s the Garnacha, whose leaves also turn yellow even though it’s a red grape variety. With this post, we wanted to share an insider’s observation, so that you can enjoy the spectacular autumn in San Vicente de la Sonsierra even more.
